While reading Brandi’s post encouraging readers to think of five things you love about yourself each day (her posts are genuine and lovely. always.), I spotted this poster.
I haven’t thought about my freckles, and I especially haven’t thought to love them, in quite a while. But I am right now.

New York City Street Numbers Oct 2009
There’s so much to love about Papercut, I kinda don’t know where to begin. They seem to always have a camera at the ready and create gobs of amazing design work.
Their globetrotting life is almost too awesome to paraphrase so I’ll just do a copypaste jig right here:
Minh Anh Vo & Victor Schuft are two French graphic designers, though their names may sound either Vietnamese or German. Minh Anh was born in Annecy and grew up in Paris. Victor comes from Troyes. They met in Brussels, where they studied Graphic Design and Typography at La Cambre School of Arts. After graduating in 2006, they decided to move to Los Angeles and eventually got married at LAX. They are now living and working in Brooklyn.
I was drawn in by this photo series of Street Numbers but you’ll want to look around at everything else too.
Don’t these snaps express the look and feel of each city? Makes me want to carry a big lens everywhere.

I have a sticky on my dashboard that reads “Be complementary.”
It’s my reminder to always be a whole half to our duo. To collaborate on goals by successfully dividing the tasks. To fill gaps, not just identify them. To motivate when the drive gets sluggish and lighten when the mood gets heavy. The purple to his yellow; the orange to his blue.

How awesome are Lesley & Pea? Sussex artists who adore letterpress and run a tearoom called Aardvark in the beautiful St. Leonards on Sea. They first printed their manifesto in 2009 as a prize for customers who completed a loyalty card.
Last year’s inspired us to: Kill Your TV, and so much more.
Here they’re at it again with more wonderful words to live by: Aardvark Manifesto 2011.

Bicycle Portraits is an inspiring doc photo project by Sten Engelbrecht and Nic Grobler. Their project investigates bicycle culture in South Africa and the lack of cyclist commuters on the roads. They do so by celebrating the commuters they do find, through photography. They’re shooting the entire project from their own bicycles while traveling around the country.
They’ve been raising money on Kickstarter since last summer to publish a book of the project. The photos are also available on their website and include candid interview captions and a map of where the photo was taken.
The images are full of character, making it difficult to not lose a good chunk of minutes wandering through them.

I would love to have a music room. It would have records and a Crosley, great speakers and a couple iPods full of music, and a piano, and drum set, a few guitars, a mound of cushy pillows to sit on, and these on the wall. And these too.

When I first came across The Jealous Curator just before attending Alt, I was in love right away. Her eye and personal taste have me nodding with affection as a scroll through post after post.
Above are just a couple pieces I’ve loved while looking around.
And guess what, she’s just as lovely in person as the art on her blog is captivating. But wait, that’s not all, The Jealous Curator’s identity and her personal artwork were recently revealed.
I’ll let my friends do the story-telling while I go ogle the typography category: Erin exposes A Secret Artist and Morgan explains why she’s Jealous of Danielle Krysa.

So this is my new friend Alyssa and she’s super awesome. Times a million!!
Long story short, we met her at AltSummit, and on Saturday we had some time to spare so we went to Sundance to play in the snow, look for celebrities, and have some lunch. Somewhere in there the beautiful girl got stopped by the Facehunter, hence the lovely photo above. Alyssa has the rest of the story here.
Alyssa is a terrific graphic designer, publishes a blog of inspiring things to like and love, and also creates WLWL, a quarterly magazine of wonderful things, with her partner Liz.
love on her!
